Kolkhida Black Tea
Kolkhida Black Tea
This tea is one of two Kolkhida teas we carry, this one being Kolkhida Black Tea. Crafted in the Kolkheti lowlands, where all our Georgian teas come from, these teas benefit from the combination of mountain air meeting the sea breeze, creating a unique taste that is distinctly Georgian.
Kolkhida Black smells disctinctly of cocoa, with a soft woody undertone. The flavor is malty and balanced, bringing with it a similar experience to other popular black teas, slightly fruity with a hint of plum, and rich. This tea is a wonderful choice for those who enjoy black teas, and are looking for something new to try.
Thanks to the whole leaf nature of this tea, it's more resistent to overbrewing than other teas, and can be steeped a second time, allowing you to enjoy your leaves for longer.
We source our teas as close to the original producer as possible, while other brands are often multiple steps removed from the original producer, our Georgian tea is sourced directly from the single farm which produces them, ensuring as much profit as possible goes to the people growing and blending the tea, and keeping these communities thriving.
In addition to this, a portion of our sales goes to Rainforest Trust UK, to do what we can to protect endangered species and threatened habitats across the world. Each cup you enjoy places 25sqm of endangered land under protection, so you can enjoy your tea knowing you're helping the environment, and the communities of those growing the tea.
